White linen drying in the wind on the lawn in front of the stone house

A linen bleachworks in the woods.

180 hectares in Mayenne, one hour ten from Paris by train. For groups, overnight.

Founded in 1768 to whiten linen on its lawns, the house is now a place for creative retreats: groups gather to make, for a weekend, a few days or more. Or simply come and stay, as a holiday house.

Creative retreats in France

A guest reading on a white bed under old oak beams
White linen against a wall of weathered wood

Nineteen rooms in old stone and white linen, and long tables for sharing meals, with a chef if you wish.

The house

Rows of flowers leading to the stone house
A stone table and benches under a tree

Woods, ponds and meadows to wander, and medieval villages, caves and Brittany within reach.

The Estate and around

Two women working with plant impressions at a table
A leaf-printed cloth lifted from a clay dye bowl

Natural dyes from onions, walnuts and leaves, taught by hand in the old dye house.

The workshop
The restored stone buildings seen from above, among trees and fields
